Repeat Offenders

Just throwing it out there. What does anyone think about getting a BC2 server. Maybe try and expand the clan. We are down to very few regulars.

We [TBK] have Pre Ordered a BC2 server for launch day. I don't know wheat the IP will be but I'll post details here when we know.

Getting a server is greatly dependent on the price per month, and who is willing to donate on a regular basis. I am willing to donate $20 a month on a regular basis.

Perhaps we should talk to nH and see if they were thinking about a server. Maybe we could organize a joint-op.

That might work out well. I looked around a little. gameservers.com is at 39.95 a month for a 32 slot server preordered, and of course the longer you order for, the more the savings. I think it comes out to $400 if you order for a whole year, which is a savings of about $80 Art of war central is a whopping $60.48 a month. I'm not sure who else in the US has servers.

For that kind of savings, I would be willing to pay the year fee up front as long as i could recoup part of it through donations

I should also mention that when you have a server with them, you can do your website through them free at 100mb HD 2500mb transfer. Now of course the problems with this are "what is it gonna cost if we switch the site over and drop the server at a later date" and I doubt it is a lot of fun moving crap around to a different host. And for a 25 player voice chat server, its an extra $4 a month. a 50 slot will run at $7.50 a month. Thats for TS, TS3, Vent, or whatever.

Not sure if I'm up for paying for a game server based upon the lack of activity of the clan. I remember the days when we were having problems keeping the BF2 server afloat.

But, just an FYI: The website does not cost the caln anything. I host the site on my account with my web host that I use for my personal domain. The only expense for the clan is the TS server of $12 per month.

Has anyone tried TS3 yet? I've herd about it but never actualy try it or seen it in use. In regards of the server, pendind on minimum requared players we could pull it of, but with present amount of people in our clan, is it even wise to have one. We got planty of friends in diffrent clans that we could party up with.

In regards to ts3, try checking out the private clan discussion every now and then. Mehmaster made a post about it a week or 2 ago. And the point of having a server would be to expand on our dwindling base of active members. Even though we have 176 pages of registered members for the site.

If you don't think we should pick up a server, hit the no botton on the poll and vote. If you want to try one out, vote yes. I just thought if we got a server up early, we could maybe get some traffic on it, get people liking it, and maybe expand our membership. It's not that I don't like playing with you guys, it that a lot of nights, theres no one else on.

Alright. Vote is at 5-1. So it looks like we might wanna try running a server. Unless I get a good reason not to before then, ill preorder the server friday night.

its been a long day. I left at 5am this morning and just got home now. Server is now up and running ip is listed in the post above. server name is supposed to bel=l Repeat Offenders l=l. Though thats not what is showing it says through the control panel right now.. Ill work on tha when i get home from my meeting tonight. Looks like a remote admin control should be out in the next few days. Ill work on getting everyone admin control when i get back tonight too.

Ok Finally got home and installed and patched the game. The server name is working. Look for it under l=l. I'll have to get a banner made up for the loading page, but right now everything seems good. I always have the worst ping to a server, and i was at 42. Oh and out of 32 slots, we had 27 players. It's currently running the conquest game type. The current basic control panel sucks balls. There are just basic changes that can be made, and there iss't even a kick or ban option currently. 3rd party programs should be up and running within the next few days that will let us do that and other various admin duties.

Active members should send me a PM with what they would like their PW for their admin should be, and ill get that all set up
